CJ VINA AGRI

The Opportunity

Before livestock becomes meat on our supermarket shelves, the animals themselves must be fed – and production of animal feed is a huge business, and a big source of carbon emissions. CJ Vina Agri is one company engaged in producing this essential animal feed and they approached us to see how we could help them reduce their carbon footprint in their factory in Long An province, Vietnam. CJ Vina Agri was a recent winner of the prestigious “Fast 500” award – recognising the company as one of the top 500 fastest growing enterprises in Vietnam. It was our pleasure to help them rear a greener business model in Vietnam.

Our Solution

With their animal feed production factory offering hundreds of square metres of available rooftop space, solar energy seemed to be the natural solution. We proposed the installation and operation of a 2.5 megawatt-peak rooftop solar system for the Long An province factory, with the goal of generating more than 3,500 megawatt-hours of solar energy, thus reducing the factory’s carbon emissions by 3,500 tonnes annually. An ambitious target for a fast growing young agribusiness.
